Pullman Basel Europe: the trade-fair hotel on Clarastrasse
141 rooms on Clarastrasse, three minutes from Messeplatz, with a bistro and lobby bar: the practical hotel for fair days, between Kleinbasel and the Rhine.

Our verdict
The Pullman Basel Europe is a hotel for fair days: three minutes on foot to Messeplatz, the tram at the door, a garage in the building. It is a four-star hotel with 141 rooms, suites and apartments.
Rooms and restaurant
The rooms are plain and contemporary, air-conditioned and fitted with a rain shower. Classic rooms measure about 19 to 23 square metres, superior rooms about 27.
Bistro Europe serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, and the lobby bar drinks and snacks. A gym looks onto the garden; there is no spa.
Location and walking times
The Clarastrasse stop is outside the hotel, Messeplatz three minutes away. The Mittlere Brücke is nine minutes, Marktplatz twelve, Basel SBB station 26 minutes on foot.
Our advice
Outside fair weeks the hotel is often good value, but prices rise sharply during the big fairs. Some guests find certain rooms small and plain for the category.
The BaselCard is part of the stay; breakfast depends on the rate.
