Hotel Victoria Basel: opposite Basel SBB station
On Centralbahnplatz since 1907, one minute from Basel SBB station: 107 rooms, a bar and bistro and trams in every direction at the door. The address for rail travellers.

Our verdict
The Victoria is the rational choice for anyone arriving or leaving by train. It has stood on Centralbahnplatz since 1907, one minute from Basel SBB station, and has 107 rooms.
Rooms, bar and bistro
The rooms are contemporary, with nods to the history of the building, and air-conditioned. Some corridors are a little convoluted because of the old building.
The Victoria bar and bistro serves breakfast, Swiss and international dishes and, in winter, fondue. A terrace opens onto the square.
Location and walking times
Barfüsserplatz is twelve minutes on foot, Marktplatz 17. Tram 2 runs straight to the Messe, which would be 26 minutes on foot.
Our advice
On the square side some guests hear the trams and the station; the rooms at the back are said to be quiet. Say which matters more to you when booking.
The BaselCard is handed over at check-in. Breakfast is not included in every rate.
